March Update

It's that time of year when the rain begins to get out of hand (and flood your garage), then the next day the temperature rises to above 85ยบ followed by a freezing night! Also the time of year when the Kings start playing amazing hockey because their back is against the wall.

This year is a little different, however, with the addition of our little man Wyatt! We are enjoying the ridiculous size, willingness to run (not walk) EVERYWHERE, and telling us where his feet and nose are. Also DISNEYLAND โ€“ wow this kid just loves him some Disneyland. Mickey, being outside, chewing on stroller straps, eating food that Daddy drops on him, Small World, Monsters Inc., Tiki Room, and getting to stay up WAAAY past his bedtime. What's not to love?!

Here are some pictures from our outings and of our 28lb, walking, biting 10-month old. He is very into telling you the sounds a dog, snake and fish make, as well as reading and watching anything by Ree Drummond.

Things are changing a little bit. I have decided I am going to start opening up to the idea of being a freelance designer. It is a giant, but very necessary, leap of faith and hoping that God will guide through it all. So there will be much more work on my plate but it is what I love so bring it on! This is will hopefully bring about a better work/life balance and overall happiness for me and my family, who knows maybe even a career growth spurt.

We are currently in Las Vegas enjoying time away from home and work. We just planned a trip to Palm Desert  for my birthdsy and then we have Maui coming up in August! ๐Ÿ

Colossians 3:23

Whatever work you do, do it with all your heart. Do it for the Lord and not for men.

I think this is my focus for 2017, I stumbled upon this verse and it just felt so applicable to the way I work. I have to remember that no matter how crazy things get, who is involved, or how lame the task may be... I am His creation. What I have and why I have is all because of him. Love, creativity, confidence, talents, family, friends, jobs, life in a very safe city, a home... it is all here so that I can better be the salt of the earth.

the long defeat

Suffering that I see all around,
It's enough to keep me crashing down
Till I, I'm wrecked and wreathing from these falls.
Still I believe there's a word in the wire,
And I believe there's a way through the fire.
And I, believe, there's a joy that blooms beyond these walls.

So keep holding on to hope without assurance.
Holding on to a memory of light.
But will the morning come?
For all I know, weโ€™ll never see the sun,
but together weโ€™ll fight the long defeat.

Adios September

So in case y'all haven't noticed, I'm pretty preoccupied and obsessed with my son, Wyatt. He just had his 4month checkup yesterday and he really did an amazing job. He is 18lb 10oz, 26.5" long and has an 18" head circumference. While we were worried about him having such a big head, the doctor decided to measure my head which came in at a whopping 24". The average is around 20" so our little guy is just like me, which put some worry to rest ๐Ÿ‘๐Ÿผ

i decided to really kick things into gear this month, as I will be on the road for half of it. Taking Wyatt to Dallas and then Cabo San Lucas! There will be a lot of time for working from home, which really helps me get my creativity flowing. Hoping to get a few more prints up for sale, a couple illustrations too. Of course there will be tons of pictures of Wyatt.
